Cervical Health Awareness Month


January is Cervical Health Awareness Month
Cervical Health Awareness Month was created to raise awareness about the prevention of Cervical Cancer. Cervical cancer is currently the second leading cause of cancer death among women worldwide. Regular pap smears are recommended for women 21-30 to detect any abnormal changes in the cell around the cervix. Women who have their pap tests as often as they should are less likely to get cervical cancer, compared to those who don't.


Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy focuses on flexibility and strength training, while creating a specialized physical fitness regimen to help reduce stress, prevent fatigue, cope with cervical cancer symptoms, and improve overall quality of life. They ensure that patients maintain some level of physical activity during and after cancer treatment. Exercise increases heart rate and muscle flexion, while boosting the body's tolerance to chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Participating in daily exercise programs will enable you to gain a sense of physical control over your condition, and will provide an outlet for stress and anxiety. In addition, exercise will insist you with the motivation and the drive for optimal wellness.
